WEEK 3 - Taklimat Chapter 1 & 3

For the week 3, Dr. A.K.M. Zakir Hossain gives us a briefing about chapters 1 and 3.
For chapter 1 is Introduction and for chapter 3 is Methodology.



To write the Introduction, we need to include:

• research background

• problem statement

• objective

• scope of research

• thesis organization

For Methodology, there is a research process which are:

• Phase 1: Deciding what to research

• Phase 2: Planning a research study

• Phase 3: Conducting a research study

The DO & DON'T to write the methodology

• use the past tense to describe what you did

• order procedures chronologically or by type of procedures

• don't include details of common statistical procedures

• do not mix results with procedures

Chapter 3 shall consist of this but not limited to:

• introduction

• experiment/ study design

• elaboration of process flow

• parameter studies

• testing and characterization

WEEK 2 - Taklimat Chapter 2

This week, we need to install software Mendeley on our laptop. This Mendeley is a reference manager and academic social network that can help you organize your research, collaborate with others online, and discover the latest research. The use of Mendeley is to automatically generate bibliographies and collaborate easily with other researchers online.Then we need to search at least 3 paper that related to our topic project.

Chapter 2 is the Literature Review. In this briefing, the input that we get are:

• the purpose of literature review

• how to find the literature review material

• type of literature review material

• how to write literature review and to cite

The type of literature review material are:

• journal paper

• proceeding/conference papers

• books/magazines/articles

• newspapers

There are several ways to find literature review material. For example:

• online database - UTeM library

• Mendeley

• google scholar

• website

WEEK 1 -Taklimat PSM 1

PSM 1 Work Schedule

This briefing was conducted by Puan Aziean Bt Mohd Azize at Dewan Seminar  FTK. This briefing was held to inform about the introduction of PSM 1 this semester. The learning outcome that can we get from the briefing :

• the purpose and objective of PSM
• important date related to PSM
• use related previous work and its relevant theory
• choose the proper methodology
• present the preliminary in the oral and written forms effectively

We need to search for a supervisor and confirm the title for PSM. Then, we need to send the title form and fill the google form register.
